Anguksa Temple Attractions

  • An old temple located in Jeokjangsan Mountain which supposedly was founded by monk Wolin Hwasang in the 3rd year of King Chungnyeol’s reign during Goryeo Dynasty (1277) or built by great monk Muhak in the early Joseon Dynasty by constructing a castle for the future of the nation. In the 5th year of King Gwanghae (1613), the temple was repaired and used as a barrack for monk soldiers to protect Jeoksangsan Historical Archives, which was built in the following year.
